Everything about Tim Severin totally explainedTim Severin was born Timothy Severin in India in 1940 and currently lives in Ireland. While still a student of Geography and History at Tonbridge School and Oxford University he embarked on the Marco Polo Expedition with Stanley Johnson and Michael de Larrabeiti. This was the start of his career as an explorer and writer. Severin has recreated a number of legendary voyages and journeys in order to determine how much of the legends are based on factual experience.
In 2005 he started writing historical fiction with similar themes - the voyage. His first Viking Series is about a young Viking adventurer Thorgils Leifsson, who travels around the world. In 2007 he started publishing his next series set in late-17 century about the 17-year-old Hector Lynch, who becomes a Corsair.
